A Personal Roadmap

Mood scale:

  • + for mania, - for depression
  • +/- 3 may require an out-patient day program but does not necessarily require removal from my normal surroundings.
  • +/- 4 requires an out-patient day program, removal from my normal surroundings, and possibly a brief hospitalization. At this level I have not totally lost contact with reality.
  • +/-5 requires a period of hospitalization, removal from my normal surroundings, followed by an out-patient day program. At this level I have lost contact with reality.

Mood swing indicates a transition of mood from one pole to the other. Religious, faith healing, and work, indicate episodes initiated by the triggers discussed in "Figure Your Trigger."
